In Reply To Difference between ASH spec ECU and JWT ECU? posted by 300zx16mano on April 22, 2004 at 11:36 AM

Message Depending on how well your engine is and if you still have functioning knock sensor.

Both of them will give you more power but wich one is safer?

So if your engine is not at its optimum and knock sensor is shot the JWT ecu will give you more power because there are no safety maps there, however JWT does not remove speed limiter nor boost cut(max air flow trough amm) and obviosly JWT does this to non technicly intelegent people because most of them are like you just whant more power not thinking of worse that can happen'. If the JWT made their programs with safety maps then every customer with bad knock sensor will call them back and bitch at them that their ECU did not make any more power on their car. To avoid that JWT just slammed all the same maps across.

Now AshZ has more agressive maps for power and more safer maps for knock, so if your knock sensor is shot the ecu will be in his safety maps all the time and you won't feel any power. Ashz does remove speed limiter and removes boost cut(max air flow)

Stock program is very good, its rich and advanced, you could probably beat both in Horse Power if you just raised your boost to 15psi with VP racing fuel. I did it with water injection. GMS is %100 right. How ever stock ecu is barely safe for 10 psi and 91 octane fuel.
